Dental x-rays will be needed at the majority of your appointments. For routine preventative care, these x-rays help us to detect and monitor any changes to your oral health. For emergency appointments, we can get a feel for what the problem is and the best treatment available to you. We may take x-rays before, during and after certain procedures, like root canals and surgeries.
One of our trained dental staff members will sit you comfortably in one of our examining rooms. We drape a lead apron over your body to help in refracting any radiation. A small device is then placed inside of the mouth so that the actual machine can be angled to take the image. The image is taken and the device is moved to another area of the mouth. This step is repeated until all of the necessary x-rays have been taken and developed for the doctor to look over during your appointment.
If you would like to come into our office for new dental x-rays, call us now and we’ll be happy to schedule an appointment for you.
